This Grumman Aircraft video was made in the late 1970's and covers the A-6E TRAM intruder. The TRAM/FLIR (A rotating camera and laser ball under the aircraft's nose) greatly enhanced the A-6's attack capability and expanded the aircraft's multiple uses to armed recon and surveillance. The A-6 was operated by both the US Navy and the US Marines. As seen in the video, the Marines would establish "STOLF's" (Short Take Off and Landing Fields) where catapult and arresting wire equipment would allow heavily armed Intruders to support Marines in ground offensives.
